Ali gave us a ride (thanks Ali!) to the bus in Milwaukee that took us to O'hare. Our flight from Chicago to Hong Kong was 16 hours. We took a train into Hong Kong to take advantage of the 12 hour layover. We ferried around the harbor at 8 am before walking a ton all over the city to enjoy it's many beautiful parks, meat, dim sum, and markets (more on that later). Trained it back to the airport for our 3 hour flight to Bangkok. Jetlagged and ready to crash we grabbed a cab to our hotel. Since Khao San Road is closed to traffic so it was a short walk to check in...
We made it to Bangkok! 37 hours and 57 minutes after we shut the door at my mom's in Wauwatosa, WI... we opened the door to our hotel on Khao San Road in Bangkok. Khao San is the largest backpackers' magnet in South East Asia, what better place to start our backpacking adventure than that?
